CAG community mtg. on school renovations

Information provided by Citizens Association of Georgetown

Get Schooled! CAG is hosting a community meeting on local school renovations on Tuesday, October 18, at St. John's Church, 3240 O Street NW. Following a reception at 7 pm, the program will begin at 7:30 pm. Tours of Hyde will be offered.

Much-anticipated renovations to Hyde-Addison, Georgetown's only public elementary school, are due to begin next year. Still unconfirmed is the controversial question of where to relocate the school's 316 young students. DCPS is currently proposing a site three miles away, at Euclid and 11th.

Meanwhile, ongoing construction at the Duke Ellington School for the Arts continues to significantly exceed the original cost estimate and timeline.

To learn the status of these important projects is and how they will impact Georgetown, come to CAG's October community meeting to hear representatives from the District, School Improvement Team, and the Georgetown community share the latest news about the Hyde and Duke Ellington renovations and discuss how they are impacting our neighborhood.

Everyone is welcome.
