The Burleith Citizens Association will have a special meeting on Thursday, February 25, from 7-9 pm at the Washington International School (36th & R). There will be two items on the agenda:

• Proposal put forth by Charlie Volkman at the November 2015 annual meeting to change the name of Ellington Field to The Western High School Stadium. Charlie Volkman (Burleith resident and BCA Member) and Desepe DeVargas (Ellington Head of School) will make presentations. There will be community comment and then a vote will be taken of the BCA voting members. Please note that an affirmative vote by the BCA for the name change is just one step and must be followed by legislative action to accomplish the change.

• Discussion of the redevelopment of Burleith/possible historic designation. Kim Williams from the DC Office of Historic Preservation and Paul DonVito from Foxhall Village will present. Please note that this is an initial conversation only. The BCA does not have an official position and will not bring anything to a vote at this meeting.
