Historic Designation town hall

David Maloney, DC's State Historic Preservation Officer and director of DC's Historic Preservation Office within the DC Office of Planning, will be the featured speaker at the Wednesday, September 14, town hall meeting on historic designation.

He will talk about and take questions about additions/renovations in Burleith. There will also be some remarks on the process going forward. As always, there will be ample time for community discussion and Q&A.

Doors open at 7:30 pm for light fare. Meeting begins at 8 pm at the Washington International School, 1690 36th Street NW, Multipurpose Room

Mr. Maloney has directed the Historic Preservation Office since 2007; he joined HPO in 1985 after serving for seven years as staff architect and program manager for the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation. In August, Mr. Maloney walked through Burleith and viewed many of the additions.

For information about the issue, FAQs, past community meetings and outreach, and how to support the exploration process, read the August 25 web post and visit the Exploring Historic Designation webpage.
