SOME Holiday in a Box

On Sunday afternoon, December 1, nine neighbors gathered at the home of Burleith Community Fund VP Liane Jones for a packing party, refreshments, and chatter about holiday plans and other topics. Their goal: to wrap and assemble shoeboxes filled with winter wear and toiletries for distribution to clients of So Others Might Eat (SOME) later this month.

After three hours, stacks of colorfully wrapped boxes lined Liane’s living room. At least 40 boxes, including contributions by T Street’s Divya Swamy and her Virginia Girl Scout troop, were delivered to SOME’s offices. The BCF thanks everyone who participated in this year’s community-wide effort.
