Burleith Boosters

By Ann Carper

The Burleith Citizens Association was profiled by reporter Peggy Sands in the February 7 issue of The Georgetowner.

The article covers Burleith's beginnings with BCA president Eric Langenbacher noting, "Burleith has always had its own sense of community. It was developed in the 1920s as a planned neighborhood of small affordable homes meant for the buyer of modest means but good taste."

The article also touches on BCA activities, such as the summer picnics, spring and fall clean-ups, and winter gløgg parties; how the Burleith Community Fund has supported landscaping and historic projects; and the current issue of development in Burleith.

This last topic was the focus of a letter to the editor [page 8] in the previous issue. Langenbacher's reply appears with the profile along with a sidebar on the BCA's mission statement, BCA officers, and contact information.
