Tot Lot Sand Replenished

The Burleith Tot Lot is a gem for neighborhood families. Its shaded, enclosed playground is wonderful for small children. But, after extensive use, it was missing one thing … SAND. The sandbox had been getting emptier and emptier over the past year. Thanks to the generosity of S&R Foundation and the Sower family last month, our children are once again able to spend hours playing in the replenished sandbox.

I'd also like to thank Glover Park Ace Hardware, which helped calculate the amount of sand needed, delivered it directly to the playground, and filled up the sandbox (all 6,000 lbs. of it) for us. Several of our children were able to watch with amazement as their sandbox came back to life.
