Amr Kotb is a Ward 2 liaison with the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services. Kotb joined the office in January 2019 and comes to public service after working for several years in Middle East policy, most recently as the advocacy director for an NGO called the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy.

As your Ward 2 Liaison, Kotb seeks to be as visible and responsive as possible, with the overall aim of being transparent and accountable. He also aims to think about issues strategically, by relying on an approach that seeks to identify and respond to root causes rather than their symptoms.

Kotb covers ANCs D, E, and F of Ward 2, which includes Sheridan-Kalorama, Georgetown/Burleith/Hillandale, and Logan Circle. (Nicole Goines, his Ward 2 counterpart, covers Downtown, Dupont, and Chinatown.)

Kotb attends ANC meetings and sends weekly updates on his activities and those of the Mayor’s office through the Burleith liserv. If you’d like to receive these updates directly or would like to be in touch on any other matters, please see his contact info below. Kotb’s Twitter handle is @amrqotb.
