On April 23, 2020, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced her plans to ReOpen DC. She said that we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to not just reopen our city, but to build a more equitable DC. ReOpen DC is about working together as a community to reopen Washington, DC in a way that is safe and sustainable. Together, we will create a plan that is based in science and tailored to the needs of our community.

ReOpen DC will follow the guidance of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Public Health Principles for a Phased Reopening During COVID-19: Guidance for Governors (JHU Report) and include phasing based on critical public health metrics and capacity. It also includes a focus on community-based guidelines, sector-based guidance, and clear communications.

Mayor Bowser has charged the ReOpen DC Advisory Group with providing big ideas and recommendations about how we can reopen in line with our values, as well as expert advice and proposed guidelines for specific sectors. The group is interested in learning about your feelings regarding reopening, as  well as any big ideas, concerns, or feedback you have via the ReOpenDC Share Your Ideas Survey.

If you have Committee-specific feedback about guidelines or ideas about a particular sector, follow this link to complete a different survey.
